Who it's for

Institutional video for the public and social sector

Institutional video is the piece that presents an organization to citizens, beneficiaries, donors, students, patients, or authorities. At Kontixu Visuals we produce it for government, universities, hospitals, foundations, and associations across Mexico—with a clear, respectful tone aligned to each institution's identity.

A TV commercial is not the same as an annual-report film, and a plant message is not the same as a public-health campaign. Institutional video is judged by clarity, credibility, and usefulness: it should explain what the institution does, whom it serves, and what results it delivers—without losing the rigor of an official document or the warmth of a well-told story.

We work with communications teams, rectors' offices, executive leadership, social responsibility, and institutional relations. Deliverables are ready for websites, social channels, presentations, internal screens, and—when needed—broadcast. If you need brand, plant, or training content for a company, we also produce corporate video for business and industry; this page focuses on the public and social sector.

Video types

Reports, social campaigns, anniversaries, recruitment, and events

These are the institutional pieces clients ask for most often in Mexico. Each has a different goal and tone, so we build the script, casting, and shoot plan around the audience it must reach.

  • Annual and results reports. Video summaries of indicators, programs, and public accountability—ideal for official sites, assemblies, and presentations to boards or citizens.
  • Social and public-interest campaigns. Health, education, environment, rule of law, or prevention. Clear messages with real testimonials and measurable calls to action.
  • Anniversaries and institutional milestones. Ten, twenty-five, or fifty years of a university, hospital, or foundation: archive, interviews, and a narrative that connects past and present.
  • Recruitment and employer brand in the public sector. Films that attract talent to hospitals, universities, and agencies—with the same visual care as a brand piece.
  • Institutional events. Congresses, inaugurations, academic forums, and leadership gatherings. Editorial coverage plus same-day short cuts for social when the schedule requires it. Related: live streaming & events.

We also produce onboarding films for new staff, field pieces for social programs, and short impact documentaries. When the story needs deeper narrative craft, we connect to our documentaries service.

Process

How we produce institutional video in Mexico

Every institutional project has one producer from quote to delivery, a written calendar, and review rounds agreed with communications or leadership. The process stays transparent because many of these films need legal, brand, and multi-department approvals.

1. Brief and objective. We define the audience (citizens, students, patients, donors, staff), core message, runtime, distribution channels, and brand or protocol limits. We ask for the identity manual, prior examples, and—if it exists—the report or speech that anchors the piece.

2. Pre-production. Script or outline, location list, permits, talent (executives, beneficiaries, faculty), and a safety plan. Inside hospitals, campuses, and government buildings we shoot with a small crew, agreed hours, and respect for daily operations.

3. Production. Cinematography, clean sound, and discreet lighting. When needed we add drone cinematography under AFAC rules and the site's own protocols. We collect image releases—especially for minors, patients, or community members.

4. Post-production and deliverables. Edit, color, sound, subtitles, plus horizontal, vertical, and social cutdowns. Post-production includes clear comment rounds. We deliver H.264/ProRes masters as agreed and a package ready to publish.

We shoot in Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Cancun, Queretaro, Chihuahua, Ciudad Juarez, and El Paso, and we travel elsewhere in Mexico when the project requires it.

Corporate vs institutional

How it differs from corporate video

We use “institutional video” when the client is a public or social institution and the message speaks to citizens or the community it serves. We use corporate video when the client is a company and the focus is brand, plant, product, training, or B2B audiences.

In practice three things change: the language (closer to public service than a sales pitch), the approvals (protocol, legal, and institutional communications), and the locations (campuses, hospitals, government offices, communities). The cinematic finish is the same—careful lighting, clean sound, and precise editing.

If your organization sits in between—for example a corporate foundation or a private hospital with a social mission—we help you pick the right framing or produce both lines so they do not compete in search or in the message. See our projects and contact us with the goal, runtime, and deadline.

Why Kontixu

Institutional experience since 2003

Since 2003 we have produced film and video in Mexico with crews that know how to work inside institutions that cannot stop for a camera. That matters when the shoot overlaps with classes, hospital shifts, public service desks, or a community that must keep its day moving.

We work in Spanish and English with international teams and with communications offices that report to leadership or a board. Quotes break out pre-production, shoot days, post-production, and cutdowns—no mid-project surprises. If a brief mixes an institutional report with a plant or brand film, we split them into clear deliverables so each video keeps its own audience and its own service page.

FAQ

Questions about institutional video

See all FAQs →

What is an institutional video?

It is a film that presents an institution—government, university, hospital, foundation, or association—to its audience: what it does, whom it serves, and what results it delivers. It is used on official sites, social channels, reports, and events.

How is it different from corporate video?

Institutional video serves the public and social sector; corporate video serves companies and industry (brand, plant, training, B2B). Kontixu produces both and will guide you based on your organization. See corporate video.

Can you shoot in hospitals, campuses, and government offices?

Yes. We plan around safety protocols, schedules, and authorizations. We use a small, discreet crew so we do not interrupt operations or care for patients, students, or citizens.

Do you produce annual reports and social campaigns on video?

Yes. We produce results reports, public-interest campaigns, anniversaries, institutional recruitment, and event coverage—with script, shoot, and versions for web and social.

How long does an institutional video take?

It depends on runtime, locations, and approval rounds. A two- to three-minute piece often takes three to six weeks from brief to master; multi-site reports or archive-heavy films can take longer. We put the calendar in writing.

Where do you shoot in Mexico?

In Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Cancun, Queretaro, Chihuahua, Ciudad Juarez, and El Paso, and we travel to other cities when the project needs it. Travel and shoot days are quoted up front.
